How To Avail Computer Support To Free Space On Your PC

Computer and laptops are the prized possession for many users. They store their important files, documents, needed software and many more. As a result, the storage of your computer starts to fill and there is no space in your hard drive to accommodate more files or folders. This also makes our computer work really slow. If your computer displays a red sign underneath your hard drives, then you need to increase the space of your hard drive. Following are the ways suggested by computer tech support experts to free up the space on your Dell computer or laptop.

Delete Junk Files By Disk Cleanup

If you are using Dell computer or laptop and have the latest Windows operating system, then it will have the Disk Cleanup option. This Window tool helps to delete the temporary files that are no longer needed by the user. If you haven’t deleted the junk files since you bought your system, then it is high time that you need to clean up your system for such unwanted files. Following are the methods to be followed by users to start Disk Cleanup.

Open My Computer and right click on any drive that you want to clean up.

Click on Properties. Once the dialog opens up, you will see a ‘Disk Cleanup’ icon. Click on it.

It will automatically start calculating the size of space that can be cleaned up in that particular disk.

Once it is completed, it will show you the size of unwanted junk files.

You can start the Disk Cleanup by clicking on ‘Delete Files.’

Once the process is complete, restart your Dell system.

In case of any hurdle in between, contact Dell laptop support for assistance.

Uninstall Unwanted Apps And Software

With time, your computer becomes a hub of software and programs that you never use. As per Dell computer support, you can get rid of those programs with the Programs and Features option in the Control Panel.

To do this, go to Control Panel in your Dell system and look for Programs and Features. Click on it.

You will get a whole list of programs installed in your system. Select the unwanted program and uninstall it one by one.

Once you are done, reboot your system and check if the space is left on your hard drive.
